not sure if any of you saw it already, but i did this set for my sis when she hosted the CNY eve show on channel 8. :)

it's done on fake tips (as she doesn't have the time to sit around for me to painstakingly paint everything on her extremely small nails (it runs in the family), but so far, so good... even though it's fake tips, she still has them on! lasting or what! heh~~~

and if you scroll down to my previous posts you'll know this set is inspired from one of them. ;)

initially i considered only extending a few nails for this customer, but realised that the previous mani she did had depleted her nail plate! they were so thin and grew out in such a awkward shape so i clipped them off and extended them!

after extensions:

i love love love this set. she showed me some design choices she saw but i modified it to incorporate her favourite colour: purple... then i tot i'd add some emeralds and greens so they don't look too bridal for this young lady. :)

Marbling with Gel Polish. i'm trying out another brand of gel polish that doesn't require a top and base coat. yep, it's THAT convenient, and also this brand, 1Q32 has much more solid colours to choose from than Harmony Gelish offers. there's just so much you can do with sheer colours. downside is the $$. >.<

Sorry for MIA-ing.... most of you will know that i took leave from work to go get married. haha!

a small update; went to HK for my vv first international nail competition. am really proud of myself really! in between juggling wedding preparations and all, i managed to go 2 weeks prior to my wedding. lol. and not to mention, i'm really a baby in the nails industry; barely 3 months since i finised classes?!!?

customer's nails are fan-shaped; the nail plates grow outwards, and also, UPwards! in fact, i have very similiar nails.

in situations like this, Acrylic Extensions can VERY effectively correct your nail shape. coupled with the oval-shaped nails, they look much slimmer, don't you think? :)

so i had marbling lessons today, and this is done by the water marbling technique. it will be quite messy to be done on real nails with the cleaning and all, but i reckon that the effort is well worth it. look at this set! just so pretty! i would absolutely love to have these on my nails. :)

we did also learn dry marbling, which is the more common one nowadays, done with gel. those are pretty cool too. i'll probably do a few sets with polish and post them up soon! :)

so i'm done with acrylics classes, and then i tried to do a glitter extension on myself with a teddy bear inlay. :) inlays mean that the object is embedded inside the nail itself! it's really not easy because 1, the bear has to be thinly sliced. 2, i have extremely small nails to work with. 3, still control the shape of the extension so it looks more natural. :)

i'm almost at the end of my acrylic extensions classes, and boy.... i still need lotsa practice! nonetheless, here's what it looks like on my own hand, and u can compare it with my other fingers! IMHO, a girl cannot do without extensions!!! love love love the outcome always, but the procedure is still kinda complicated.

these are done on fake tips and then stuck with nail glue. simple fuss free, and u don't have to sit around for hours to wait. downside is that fake tips are not lasting, unlike extensions (which by the way, i'm busy taking classes for right now)!
